"Be still and know that I am God"

Hello people of blog world, I am still alive and living for Christ and it has been a blessing time in life and I love it!
In Bible study of last week we talked about quiet alone time with God. Prayer is so important in talking with the Lord, having that alone time with him is a way to get rid of all distractions and being still with him.

A great way to know how to have alone time is by ACTS- Adoration, Confession, Thanks and Supplication.

I also learned that by reading over the ten commandments in Exodus 20:1-17 it is good to pray about those specific things so you can improve and work through those commands.

"My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me. 2 Corinthians 12:9

We all learn from our weakness, this is when we turn to the Lord and pray to him! This week has been a little overwhelming but last night on Friday we had a Campus Crusade for Christ Women's Appreciation Dinner. It was so amazing the guys did a heck of a job! {bravo!} The food was perfect {I ate it all and I am still so full} Guys can surprise us in many ways and its nice to see them appreciate us women!

"The Armor of God"

So this week has not been my best ever. I am sorry to those around me, for being a little "mean" it is nothing personal and I truly apologize. At Bible study this week we read...

Ephesians 6:10-20 " Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power, put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realm. Therefore put on the FULL armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand you ground and after you have done everything to stand. Stand firm then, with the belt of TRUTH buckled around you waist, with the breastplate of RIGHTEOUSNESS in place. and with your feel fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. Take up the shield of FAITH, which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of SALVATION and the sword of the SPIRIT on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests."

This year we have focused a lot on Ephesians and what the apostle Paul is writing to us about. This book is my favorite, everything is applicable to today and how we live our lives. By being strong in the Lord we can fully put on the armor but through the Lord.

How many pieces of armor do we put on?  ALL of it, he doesn't say one piece, or a couple it is completely the full body of armor. He wants us to be fully prepared for this spiritual battle we are living in today. We must be ready with all different types of weapons {truth, righteousness, faith, salvation, spirit}

We must be able to stand up to the devil's schemes, when he tells you to do something bad, through truth at him. With scripture you can fight anything.

When someone is having a hard time with pain, death or depression you give them words of wisdom, you give them scripture. This is how you overcome these struggles. This is our number one "sword" the Bible is our weapon in today's battle.

A good example I heard is we are all boxing in life, God made us to fight back, stay in for all of the "rounds" he doesn't want us to be weak or give up, we must stand our ground, we are against the powers of this dark world.

As we were in our Bible study, our leader told us to research one item from the armor {we chose the breastplate}  Here are some facts on why God chose this specific piece for Righteousness...
  • Made of thick leather and studded with metal orbs to protect heart and lungs
  • Without a body armor the soldier is left exposed and vulnerable
  • Our heart desires the Lord, it is the most important, God knows are heart better then anyone
  • A Roman soldier wore a breastplate to protect the most vital organ of all as he advanced on the enemy
  • The lungs breath in the air, and the heart pumps that oxygen to the body, giving it the life to fight on. When the lungs take in the heart gives out.

Proverbs 4 :23 " Above all guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it"

So, while we are in this spiritual warfare, guard you heart, be prepared by putting on the full armor of God.

Sometimes we forget to put on certain pieces, or it needs fixing from tears. Which one do you need to fix, or need to remember to wear?

Prayer is powerful...

First, I was dying to finish my High school and start college
then I was dying to finish college and start working
then i was dying to marry and have children
and then i was dying for my children
to grow old enough
so i could go back to work
but then i was dying to retire
and now i am dying
and suddenly i realized
i forgot to live

Please don't let this happen to you appreciate your current situation and enjoy each day

to make money we lose our health
and then to restore our health we lose our money
we live as if we are never going to die
and we die as if we never lived...

{I retrieved this from a stumbleupon blog one evening}

Doesn't this just make you sit and think? I felt very moved by this and how precious our time on earth truly is. This past week I have never felt closer to our campus. Prayer honestly is the most important thing. It is how we communicate to our Lord and Savior. It is only through him that miracles happen, how we can reach others and fully grow in our faith. We can't do anything without him.  A few of us started to have a daily prayer movement begin on campus, we are putting our faith in God's hands so he can tell us what are next step shall be for our campus.

Proverbs 3:5 "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding"

Sing, Sing, Sing

We will sing, sing, sing
and make music with the heavens
we will sing, sing, sing
grateful that You hear us
when we shout your praise
lift high the name of Jesus
what's not to love about you?
Heaven and earth adore You
kings and kingdoms bow down
Son of God You are the One
we're living for
You are the love that frees us
You are the light that leads us
like a fire burning
Son of God You are the One
You are the One we're living for

I don't know what it is about this song, but every morning it is in my head. {Not saying I don't enjoy it} It makes me excited to know that someday we will be in heaven with our Father! I always tell my family when we get there we will be perfect and have voices like angels. {I wish I could sing like a professional haha}
This weekend has been a blast, I feel that my fellowship with others has been stronger then ever. The weather is muy caliente and I am loving it.

Friends till the end...

Hello people of blogger world, can I just start out by saying I love my friends. They are my family while at school and they complete my life! For me I need people I can trust, count on and go to for help when I am in need. Thank you for everyone who has ever been in my life, I would not be here without you.

"This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends. You are my friends if you do what I command you. No longer do I call you servants, for the servant does not know what his master is doing, but I have called you friends for all that I have heard from my Father I have made known to you"
John 15:12-15

People do come and go from your life but I pray that when I'm old and grey that I will still have friends to lean on for support. Boys leave you heart broken, and miserable they hurt you and make you feel like {crap} but friends tell you the truth and are honest. Girls need their support group because you can't do it alone. I love you all and thank you again for everything. God placed these wonderful amigas in my life he has a special plan for all of us.

Enjoy the wonderful weekend coming up {I know I will} I shall keep you all in my prayers!
